Today our counselor, Sharon Pratt, came in to talk about gun safety with the kindergartners. The main idea was if a friend ever tried to get you to touch or pick up a gun you say, "No, that is not safe", and then go tell a grown up. She would like you to talk about gun rules at home.
The kindergartners are learning more about farm animals. They are choosing one to use as a topic for their non-fiction book they are writing.
We investigated the artist Wassily Kandinsky, one of the first "abstract" painters. We are using his "Study of Abstract Squares" as an inspiration for our own crayon and watercolor resist drawings!
The kindergartners are switching between warm colors and cool colors for the squares using crayons to color the circles. They will paint over the colors with the opposite selection.
We all enjoyed our sunny day!
