Half Day!

I sent out this email....

Hello Parents!

I realize this may be a little last minute...

I have been contemplating how our class can celebrate Earth Day in a meaningful way.  I would like to have a picnic THIS FRIDAY and be part a world-wide Nature Conservancy event.  We will be a little early so we won't be counted in the world-record numbers but I would still like to follow their guidelines and make this a small fund-raiser for the students.  Here is what I would like to do:

Do not send lunch on Friday!

I will bring lunch in reusable bowls / plates with wax paper.

I have purchased reusable cups, plates, bowls, utensils for our classroom (IKEA!)

If you have a cloth napkin please send it in (and any extras!!!).

We will inaugurate our new "chicken bucket" with the scraps and compost the wax paper.

THERE WILL BE NO WASTE FOR THE LANDFILL!!!!!!!!!

Can you send in $1 for the Nature Conservancy - a wonderful organization.....I will be sharing more information about the work they do!

If you would like to contribute to our lunch (using reusable bowls, wax-paper, etc.) please let me know, otherwise I have no problem bringing it!
