Thursday!!!!!
A wonderful day......
Reading buddies...
We read the "Polar Express" today and then started talking about another book by the same author Chris Van Allsburg, "Jumanji", after Dan mentioned that he wanted the game. I showed a portion of the movie (looks scary) and than ran to the library and got the book. We loved it!!!!

Tuesday!
A beautiful day!! We worked on rhyming, main characters, settings, story problems and solutions, stretching out words to listen to the individual sounds, letter formation, number formation, patterns, and having as much fun as possible while still following the school rules!
Here they are in PE during "Winter Wonderland".....they are "skating", "walking through mountain passes", sliding down "ice", playing hockey, pulling a "sled" and throwing "snowballs"!

We watched a video about the lunar eclipse happening tomorrow - thanks to Jeffrey for letting us know! At 6:05 AM the setting moon should look pinkish to red! Here is a link for more information: pink moon
Here is our Taiko drumming experience from yesterday....

Half Day!
We had a wonderful morning making gingerbread men, boys, pirates, girls, aliens,
and cow folk! A huge thank you to Jeffrey's mom for all of her help! It was really fun. The best part was walking around the school trying to find the run-away cookies. Ms. Tjemsland , Ms. Pool, Ms. Hawkins, and Mr. Ande were so sweet helping us to find the missing cookies! Mr. Ande let us interrupt a big meeting with district staff to tell him about our "emergency"!
I am still working on this slide show....the video portion is cut short and I hope to fix it so you can see the entire thing! Here is the link: http://animoto.com/play/683KQJ0ea3t0OYElpPgm0g

Monday!
We continue with our quest to read the best gingerbread boy / girl book. Today it was "The Gingerbread Cowboy". We liked that there was a coyote instead of a fox!. Tomorrow it will be "The Gingerbread Cowboy"!!!! We will be making our won gingerbread people on Wednesday!
Here is one reason I love my job.......working with children like these!!!!!!

Monday!
Wow, these kindergartners were SO happy to see each other today...............it was hard to get them quiet!!!!!
I did get them quiet while they were working on the skill of copying print from the board....
We started reading Gingerbread boy / baby books and will add on girl/ cowboy, etc. Next week we will make and bake our very own cookies! I would love any contributions of candy that works for gingerbread people. Thanks!

Wednesday
Our stone soup feast was a success! We gathered with a hundred other students and sat down and ate the food we all prepared! it was all very sweet. Thank you for making sure your child had some lunch to eat along with the soup. I will post pictures after they get "okayed" by the other teachers.
Pavel's mom brought eggnog and most of us were eager to have a drink!
Here is what I am thankful for.....having the opportunity to spend each day with your lovely children - I am not kidding! I absolutely LOVE my job as a kindergarten teacher and want to thank all of the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, for the work you have done to create thoughtful, smart, funny and always exuberant children!

Tuesday...
Whew, did we stay busy today!
After ANOTHER story of "Stone Soup" we got ready to make our own! There was lots of dumping and stirring as these enthusiastic kindergarten chefs combined ingredients...
The kindergartners made turkeys using paper pattern block pieces...
We collected lots of food for Helpline House...
The rest of the day flew by.....
