We have been learning the habits of great readers all year.  

• We started with seeing ourselves as readers and learning how to choose and take care of books.  We built reading stamina, and learned how to make sense of text by making predictions and asking questions. 
•  We practiced problem-solving unfamiliar words and summarizing and retelling.   
• We learned how to use what we know making connections, activating background knowledge, building vocabulary and concept knowledge, and making inferences.
• We learned how stories work by understanding story grammar,  and identifying and using text features.
• We are learning how to read a nonfiction text.

These kindergartners love books and love to read!!!!!!
