Thanks for remembering to send your little darlings in coats WITH HOODS. We are Pacific Northwest folk and head outside most days, even when it is raining. The kindergartners got wet today!!! I pumped the heat up which dried-up most of them. We decided to skip the last recess.
We are spending some time on animals that hibernate - especially bears. It's been fun sharing the huge stack of books I have about bears! We watched a video showing Alaska bears catching salmon jumping out of the water. Very exciting!
Today as I was reading a book about being a good friend, the students spotted a girl in the illustration who had a prosthetic hand. Thus ensued a lengthy conversation about various prosthesis and the conditions that would require them. I mostly focused on the differently-abled piece and emphasized how we all like Disneyland, cupcakes and dancing even if our legs and hands are different. It was a good discussion!
