Tuesday...

We got started on Paper investigation with a paper hunt around the classroom.  Students had to match their paper sample with one hidden in the room!  The kindergartners each got a packet of 10 samples of different paper to study.  We wrote of them with different writing utensils and compared the properties of the paper that make it suitable or unsuitable for writing and drawing.  Then the kindergartners folded their paper samples and compared the properties of paper that allowed it to be folded.  Tomorrow we will drop some water on our paper samples (and the floor, no doubt) to see how the paper changes.  We love being scientists around here and sharing our very astute observations!!!
